Inspired by a hot Delaware Seashore night in JP Smitty's Serro Scotty vintage 'canned ham' trailer. Listening to the rain hit the tin roof and hearing faint radio chatter while drifting off to sleep.
This piece is dedicated to the late great bluesman JP Smitty and an attempt to bottle that memory via sound.
I recorded this live in my basement and Shea Springer at Sweetfoot helped create the environment with vinyl samples and other magic.
I wrote and performed this song on a 3 string ham can guitar called a 'hamjo'. The canned ham guitar was gifted to me by the great Harry Harne III of Frederick Maryland. When he's not brewing beer he is crafting unique instruments under the name Crocbite Guitars. crocbiteguitars.com/Home.html
